I admit to being too cowardly to really look at the injection site when I take the band aid off. I quickly glance and if I don't see any blood or a puncture mark, I don't look again.
I've never gotten a shot at a pharmacy before but I just figured they had hired some off-duty nurses since they must have a pretty steady business of Covid booster and flu shots right now. Even if they didn't do that, I figured that the pharmacist was treated like a doctor where a lot of things...
I had to wait at CVS for maybe 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and by that time, two more people showed up so I think the pharmacist basically just wanted more people to get there so he could do three in a row, and then go back to the pills.
As an aside, I was surprised it was...
I'm still not eligible for the booster but talking to my parents, my mother's arm hurt for a day again but my dad's arm wasn't even sore this time around.
In the interest of full disclosure, my friend had a negative reaction (swelling of her lips) but it was better than the last time when she...
I want to get the same vaccine as before simply because I didn't have any real side effects from the first two so I figure that my body is OK with that kind. That being said, I'm not eligible for a booster right now so it's a moot point.
Yeah, I'm not going to push old ladies out of the way or make up a medical issue or anything but when I'm allowed to get a booster, I'll be getting it as soon as possible.
Do insurance companies have full access to doctor's records? I'd think that people would be more honest with a doctor or the medical paperwork when asked if they smoke than they would be with their insurance company. No doubt the insurance companies have made a science out of looking at what...
Not talking specifically about the people that you know but I bet that if most employers mandated vaccinations or negative tests, a lot more people would get the vaccine. When it comes down to making no money or having to get COVID test after COVID test, I think a large number of unvaccinated...
If I see someone outside in a mask (who is not heading into a store), my first thought is "This MFer is super paranoid." And I applaud them for trusting no one... even just walking past another dude outside.
I've had the same thought but the way I look at it is that if someone isn't smart enough to be vaccinated, what are the chances that they're bothering to wear a mask instead?
I feel young when a band I like just makes a new album. Most of the members of Tool or Bad Religion have to be over 50 by now but they're still touring and recording so I'm not a mummy yet.
I don't go nowhere and I'd go see Elvis... as long as he's playing This Year's Girl.
And yeah, I'm happy to say that I know all of them so I'm not quite as out of touch as I fear. Although the newest act on your list got big in 1994 so maybe I don't quite have my finger on the pulse.
You too! I'm totally intrigued but the joke is that I probably won't know who they are anyway.
I don't even know how many bands are already touring again. I know Lollapalooza was over the weekend, I think Guns N Roses are back on the road, I'm pretty sure Foo Fighters have done some one-off...
Have there been that many infections resulting from a hospital stay? I certainly understand your concern but if she does go to the hospital, I don't think she'd be at that great of a risk since she's vaccinated and will be wearing a mask.
If they say that a third shot is beneficial, I'll gladly get it. I love the vaccine so much that I'd drink it like it was soda (though that seems like it would be wildly dangerous).
I got my second shot yesterday at the former Sears in the mall and the place was pretty empty. Granted, it was around noontime on a workday but there was no line at the check-in or where they scanned my insurance card or for the nurse to get stuck.
I was happy to see a story yesterday saying...
I hope for anything to get people to take to it but I think, outside of the anti-vaxxers, there's a contingent of people who think "I probably won't get sick and even if I do, I'll just go to the doctor so I'll be fine and there's no need for me to get the vaccine". A guy called into Howard...
Yeah but there's no realistic way that businesses will check that. I know if I was making $8.50 as a Wal Mart greeter, I wouldn't find ways to have all those newly minted Constitutional scholars out there shrieking at me about their rights.
In other words, it's the honor system and honor has...
Agreed. I assume the CDC knows that stupid assholes are going to lie about being vaccinated and have taken that into account when giving their recommendation but I'm still wearing a mask when I go places for the time being (I've got until the end of the month before I'm fully vaccinated anyway)...
After all my kvetching about Pennsylvania's slowness in distribution, I got my first shot today. Second shot in three weeks and by Memorial Day, I'll be good to go.
The crazy thing is that this is the first day that the regular population was able to get the shot so I figured there'd be some...
I don't go to that many places but I have to say that virtually all of people that I see are wearing masks. They may be below the nose on a decent number (maybe 20 or 25%) of them but I suppose it's better than being a selfish moron and not wearing it at all.
Like any semi-hypochondriac, I think there's a good chance that I had COVID back in February 2020* (before it started raging everywhere) but I'm sure as hell getting the vaccine just in case I didn't or just in case that whatever antibodies my body made have waned.
* Long version: My boss went...
I gotta stop reading this thread- I've gone from worrying about side effects from getting vaccinated to hoping to get some side effects from it.
