I'm with you there. Excellent performances (happy to see the great Michael Stuhlbarg getting some recognition), beautiful photography and the end shot over the credits is quite moving but it seems as if I didn't like the movie as much as everyone else did.

Generally, the only time that the MPAA lets you really see a penis in a mainstream studio movie is in a comedic situation so they'd probably try to burn the negative of a movie with explicit gay S&M content.
