    ^ Just a guess but I'd say that they used 35mm prints rather than the 35mm negatives. Even if the DVDs came from the negatives, the Blu-rays have to be new transfers because the DVDs weren't from HD masters.

    Never say never but I don't think it shouldn't be a problem. I've seen modern TV shows with 6 hour long episodes (or a little over 4 hours of content) per disc.
