It’s a comic book thing. Many of the main characters have alliteration in their names. Not all but there are many. I’m thinking since the original Spider-Man did they want this one to too.

Also the first and last name needs the same letter.

I don’t know what that Doc Ock was from. I think GG was from the Ultimate universe. Pretty sure both SpiderMen offered the same memories of stopping the El and the car from killing Mary Jane. Plus that Spider-Lair. Where’d they come from?
