Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

It pretty much boils down to what fellow HTF member Josh Steinberg has often commented about the masses going with what is the least expensive and the most convenient. In the late '90s and especially the early to mid '00s, that generally meant purchasing DVDs, often the previously enjoyed...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

I just fairly recently viewed all of the episodes from both "Fawlty Towers" series on the Remastered DVD set. My impression is the Major's going off was intended for "shock comedy value", as by the time this episode aired, his affable but dotty character was well established, which made his...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

Not to mention many "Episodes" from "The Little Rascals" TV packages as they existed in the 1970s and 1980s were often heavily edited, with a number of them removed outright, which can never happen to existing unedited discs. CHEERS! :)

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

In Canada, while we got most of the heavily syndicated '50s/'60s shows (THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, I LOVE LUCY, THE HONEYMOONERS.) in the '70s and '80s, we tended to miss out on shows like MY LITTLE MARGIE, THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS, and LOVE THAT...

Physical Media might not be dead, but Physical Media in Retail Stores are accelerating the death

Unexpected expenses suck! I hope you're finally able to get the above set for your birthday, as I know this is the second time you've had to delay purchase of the ROWAN AND MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN set! I'm currently on a yearlong (Or thereabouts!) disc buying moratorium, as we plan to move out of...
