This one is technical and pertains to this site.
Lately, whenever I copy and paste text onto an HTF post from elsewhere, it automatically comes up as bolded text, for some unknown reason. The worst part is there appears to be no way for me to undo it at all. I've even tried copying the text...
On the other hand, at least this was one event that didn't have to be cancelled due to the pandemic (Although based on the resulting crowd size I just saw, I'm thinking they should have!). Waiting to light the Tree until almost the very end does seem rather extreme, though.
CHEERS! :)
The way I see it, for some less insulated breeds in colder climates, some clothing for the outdoors is probably helpful. So long as they're being treated right is my main concern.
That said, our cat is always indoors, and we're long past even remotely considering clothing accessories.
CHEERS! :)
I don't know about believing in it, but I see a lot less of both these days! :D
That said, I had forgotten how many local Londoners really suck at the driving thing! I'd swear they got their licenses out of a Cracker Jack Box!
CHEERS! :)
The following definitely falls under the baffles me category.
Last night, while playing around with my Android device, I somehow managed to get something called a Peel Remote app. The long and the short of it is that I'm now set up for our Toshiba TV, Samsung Blu-ray player, and Apple TV...
That's generally true, though I've seen Peameal Bacon referred to as Canadian in our home and native land on occasion.
I go back and forth on the two bacon varieties, these days. :D
CHEERS! :)
It's just the opposite for me, with wife and son periodically trying to coax me into going back to shaving my head. Of course, mother nature has taken care of most of it, anyway!
CHEERS! :)
It just goes to show that home decor esthetics winning the day over the best implementation of hi tech entertainment systems is nothing new!
CHEERS! :)
We've never had a call about there being any severe problems with our Windows, but I do recall being freaked out the first few times I saw some variation of such appearing as pop ups! I absolutely HATE such scare tactics, and the thing that angers me most is the knowledge that there are some...
Well, the folks at WXYZ Detroit are at it, again!
In place of a NEW episode of THE GOLDBERGS, they stuck some PSA about sports med, or something along that line.
At least this time they ARE airing THE GOLDBERGS episode, but apart from time shifting, who wants to view prime time comedy past...
We got rid of Bell 5 years ago, as we were sick and tired of their stupid B.S. While we were supposed to have the much faster Bell Fibre available by 2012, parts of North Bay (Including ours, unfortunately!) STILL can't get that service!
If all goes well, we'll be moving down south in the next...
We just received a junk flyer from Bell for $105.85/month bundled TV/Internet/Phone.
Here's the baffling (And annoying!) part:
INTERNET
. Fast speeds, from 0.13 Mbps to 5 Mbps (?), with most clients getting 2.5 Mbps.
Who in the f**k is Bell kidding with this horsesh*t? These weren't even...
My guess is the networks do it as a Constant Station identification, and the network promotions for specific segments of their programming is certainly nothing new. Frankly, I don't really pay much attention to such things, these days. However, don't even get me started on burned in logos...
ABC moved THE MIDDLE from Wednesday to Tuesday at 8PM at the start of this season. I was finally able to catch the latest episode On Demand this morning. It sucked that I was unable to PVR it due to the annoying (And totally avoidable, with plenty of available repeat time slots!) preemption by...
Billy Graham is still alive, actually. Perhaps that in of itself is a bit baffling?
In a more general sense, as I get older, there are more and more instances in which I think or assume that someone of note has passed on, only to discover they are still in the realm of the living, or in some...
Yes, one WOULD think that - at least one who thinks logically!
When I was in my teens, I actually sent a letter of complaint to the very same affiliate in regards to their cancelling a scheduled airing of The Marx Brothers 1940 Feature, GO WEST*. While time has erased the precise nature of the...
The following could also be a "What Annoys You?" post:
Last night, instead of a scheduled new episode of THE MIDDLE, the ABC affiliate WXYZ Detroit chose to broadcast one of their 30 minute Public Service "Taking Action" segments! (WTF?!!?)
Where the baffling component really comes in, is they...
This from an Amazon Canada preorder: Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.
This is despite my pre-ordered items (Which make up my entire order!) bearing a May 16, 2017 release...
True. I guess it depends on whether one considers wine to be a liquor, which I do, as I don't believe wine can be purchased in our Beer Store outlets, but only at the LCBO (Liquor Control Board Of Ontario) outlets, at least until the province's recent move to allow some Grocery stores into the...
Obviously, you're unaware of the recent move by the province to allow some Grocery stores to sell certain types of liquor. They've been slowly implementing this over the last year, or so. Even our comparatively small city now has this option.
Yes, compared to the U.S, our pricing for...
Is that in Inches or Centimetres? :P
For us, it's the shrinking Cheese Blocks that are annoying. Worse still, is the fact that there will be different sizes by the same company in stock within the same shelving space, AND at the SAME price!
Don't even get me started on our stupid 4...
If I recall correctly, it was while we still had Bell TV that there was a free preview of Silver Screen Classics. Overall, I found it a very poor version of TCM, although I did manage to record a fair number of the old Laurel & Hardy Laughtoons segments, and some early silent one reel comedies...
