Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

My god, I absolutely LOVED this new Indy movie! Not trying to overhype it and say it’s the best one by any means (it isn’t), but after the trailers did nothing for me and the mixed reviews poured out, I was ready for it to be kind of “meh”, but was delighted by the super fun and consistent ride...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

This new quote from Ford makes me think of two other quotes, one from Ford and one from Viggo Mortensen. Viggo Mortensen (when asked about Lord of the Rings): “I would have like to see what Peter Jackson would have done with the character Ghan-buri-Ghan, he chief of Druidain, wild men of the...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

I’m still hoping there’s an end scene in this new movie where an even older Indy, say in 1981, is in a movie theater watching a movie based on his life exploits with Ehrenreich plying “Indy” in said fictional movie.

I actually REALLY like Crystal Skull. I didn’t care for it back in 2008, but I watched it again a couple years ago when the 4K disc came out, and it actually improved greatly over time. It’s now my second favorite in the series after Temple of Doom. *runs and hides*

I know exactly what you’re saying Josh. I for one am hoping for a good film for Indy 5 and have no reason to think it’ll be bad just because. I watched Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last year on the 4K disc, and it was only the second time I ever watched it (the first time being the movie theater...

Yes, I agree 100% that J.J.’s “mystery boxes” were a fundamental flaw with The Force Awakens. At the very least, SOMEONE could have dictated answers once J.J. initiated his mysteries, and mandated consistency with Rian or whoever followed. But Rian claims he was given COMPLETE free reign and...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

This is not said enough, mostly because Lucas perpetuates the narrative that he “wrote all three movies at once” when it comes to the original trilogy. From everything I’ve read (primarily the Rinsler books) what really happened was Lucas wrote a too-long first draft for the first movie, and he...

Fleabag is amazing, and “woke” is the last thing I’d call it.

79! ;) I finally got through all 4 movies on the 4K set, and call me crazy, but Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is actually REALLY awesome! I was underwhelmed by it in 2008, and seeing it 13 years later for only the second time, my opinion has completely changed. And this has made me quite excited...

I’ve taken a picture of myself at the age of 21 and used it on the re-face app for various things, and some of the clips look VERY convincing, and these were generated for free within less than a minute. Deep fake has come a long way.

There’s always the argument about if something isn’t in the film (wether referring to deleted scenes, novelizations, press material, etc.) then it’s not canon. So I say we can interpret it how we wish. I don’t care if we’re talking about a man in the 1920’s and what the norms of the time were...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

I’m 35, and people at my work who are not even 20 years older than me sometimes call me “a child” or even “a baby”. I for one like to think that she was at least not a minor, regardless of how things were in the ‘20s, and Harrison Ford is only 9 years older than her IRL, so maybe we can say...

I only know Waller Bridge from Fleabag, which is hilarious. I certainly won’t mind seeing her in Indy 5.

Nope! I loved the new Dumbo! 😃

Any word on what year this will be? It’s gotta be getting close enough to the 80’s that the final scene of Ford as Indy could be him sitting in a movie theater watching a movie based on his old exploits. 🤪

Nice! 👍 I’m not the biggest Indy fan on the planet, I like the films (I only REALLY like Temple of Doom) but I’m starting to feel excited. With more than one cast announcement it seems promising that it’s finally happening.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

I always took it that Harrison Ford has been gung-ho to play this character as much as possible since the first movie. I don’t think they’d have guessed that there was would only be 4 by the time he got to his late 70’s, but I think they can make it work.

I’m sure she’ll be hinted at to be “someone” but then implied to be “no one” but finally confirmed to be “someone” before the end. The fans will just love it!!!

Kennedy made 5 movies released in as many consecutive calendar years, and all but one grossed Disney’s required $1B or more worldwide. I think she’s done her job quite well and an Indiana Jones 5 will not suffer because of her involvement.

    I would approve of this.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

Agree with pretty much everything here. I’ll just add that I’m in the minority that loves Temple of Doom to death. Seeing Connery and Ford together in the only reason to watch The Last Crusade (though it’s definitely a GOOD reason). If a 5th Indy film with Ford ever gets made, I’ll go see it...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

In my experience, Solo was by far the least divisive SW film in the Disney era. Everyone I know, whether they saw it in the theater or held out for home video, really liked it. I think there’s a lot more than a single reason it was a financial disappointment. I for one would be interested in...

Is anyone going to like a script if Indy is 80 years old?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

I really need to see KotCS again, as I haven’t seen it since 2008. But I just remember it doing absolutely nothing for me. I didn’t blame CGI, or swinging monkeys, or aliens, or LeBouf. Any of those factors absences would do nothing to make the film better, it just was a bland experience. But...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

I can’t even explain it other than I feel the whole movie is entertaining the entire way through, and the second half is a non-stop action fest of the highest order. I can’t get enough of it whenever I watch it! “Mola-ram! Prepare to meet Kali, in HELL!”
