What I’m not seeing is anyone directly involved with the films saying there was no plan. Simple as that.

Thats a minor characters fate. How do you extrapolate not having a overall plan for the trilogy from that??

No where in the article does it say that. There was definitely an overall plan for all three films. It’s not like they started shooting blindly. Not directed at anyone but I just don’t get this constant repeated incorrect statement. :wacko:

I think it would be braver to NOT have Kylo redeemed. Most are expecting it and it would be just a generic villain who sees the errors of his ways. I say go all bad ass and stay a true villain. Go down fighting not wussing out and turning soft. Embrace your evilness.

I’m pretty sure showing a child killed onscreen is an automatic “R” rating so Lucas would never have shown it. Can anyone give an example of a child killed graphically on screen that is less than an R? I can’t think of one.

I disagree. He is one of the best filmmakers/writer around in my opinion and has become a whipping boy of late unfairly.

Yeah but you never saw Thise children killed. It was off screen. And other than a few dopey commanders and a rebel officer that’s it. Imo it’s more hardcore and less forgiving having Kylo kill his dad Han Solo on screen.

There was Ash as the Episode IV addition was added for the Star Wars re-release in 1981. This whole “Episode” business started with The Empire Strikes Back being labeled Episode V.

Fascinating. Bob, don’t you think that “if” your claim was true, that most of the prints of a Star Wars in 1977 said Episode IV, that it would have been mentioned in the thousands of reviews and articles written about the film at that time? I mean that’s a big deal and would have warranted...

It certainly did NOT have Chapter IV in the opening scroll in 1977. That happened during one of the reissues on April 10 1981.
