Listening the the Revenge Of the Sith soundtrack at work today and Gosh this is a real GEM. Totally ignored by the Academy and IMHO opinion one of John Williams best. Creative and the themes resonate deeply. Fabulous.

Ditto. Even the ones I might not find that enriching...sometimes just by reading other thoughts here on the HTF I gain more insight...not rationalizations but true insight and then re-watching the film I get a deeper meaning.

Mark, that's the best point you've made. And true. Any discussions about Star Wars with the people in my world are always story and character centered. The same holds for LOTR too. The Matrix is highly remembered too. I think it has a different crowd though at least different than who I hang...

If just a snippett was shown as a hightlight then that is the wrong message for VFX. That encourages effects over story instead of effects for the story...

Chuck, that IS the only reason I'm upset. I am biased, but ROTS was deserving, not because it's a SW film but so because of it's own merits. That's truly the only reason I've been steamed. :)

Chuck, like Chris, I believe in alot of what you've written...but I guess I don't consider it a "breaking point" per se as there are at least one or 2 categories each year that I find laughable. For me, I've never taken the Academy that seriously...some of what I've commented on was in jest but...
