I cleaned the disc each time it froze. Sometimes I wonder if it is the player and not the disc, but the player does play all my other 4K discs from Kino, Warner, Shout Factory, Blue Underground, Severin... Seems like the HP discs themselves might be faulty, but Ive played them all before and...

I know I made the thread for DVD, but my Warner UHD of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets kept freezing at the 2 hour mark all the way to the end. I wound up switching to the Blu-ray to finish. This was the first Warner UHD to give me problems. Universal UHDs give me the most problems :(

Evelyn Prentice from my Powell / Loy set crapped out on me about 48 minutes in. I forwarded to the last chapter ( 1 hr and 8 minutes) so I could at least get to the ending. I've seen it before but it has been a couple of years. It's my favorite from the set ! That's two films in this set that...

The First Deadly Sin freezes up during the intro on one of my players but it works fine another my other one. The Blade II and The Iron Giant Blu-rays had the same issue where it wouldnt even load on one player, but worked fine on another. :emoji_thinking:

Don Juan is now on Blu-ray, I know that much :) I had problems with the Noirs too but luckily Sherri Bogard was there at the time and exchanged them for the WAC re-releases. I would keep reaching out to them, maybe even WB Shop could give you a lead. There has to be someone you can talk to!

Ive done the chapter skip method and when I get to the spot where it freezes and no longer plays, I can no longer skip or play. This is based on past experiences. The Return of Dr. X crapped out on me on the menu, nothing happens when I press play - I wanted to revisit it, oh well. I feel it...

I watched my Tarzan collections over the weekend and Tarzan and the Leopard Women died at Chapter 20 :( The only replacement I saw was on a Weissmuller 4 movie collection - I dont think WAC did any re-release Archive titles for these movies

I can see Black Legion and maybe Smart Money getting Blu-ray releases. Only Black Orchid crapped out on me, the rest are ok

The rest of the gangster set played and there was no disc rot on Brother Orchid. It's just another Warner DVD from the time where their DVD disc died that bit the dust

My DVD of Brother Orchid crapped out on me. I hadn't watched it in years which is a theory of mine that if you don't watch those Warner DVD's often enough they will crap out on you. I dont see this movie getting a Blu-ray release anytime soon, but of course I would love to be wrong!

I am hoping that people at Warner have read these posts and know which titles they should replace onto Blu-ray !! :)

I watched Manhattan Melodrama for the first time in awhile and there were signs that it was starting to go, with two short lived freezes.. I really wish some of the movies from the Powell Loy set would find their way to Blu-ray since many issues have been reported over the year...

IMHO I think the secret to keeping the older WB DVDs alive is to watch them more often. No real evidence other than a few movies I tried to visit I couldn't play after years of inactivity. So I revisit them more often which is no big deal since I own the films because I like them!

It could be an authoring issue on the one particular disc. Ive had that happen to me on DVDs and Blu-rays. Basically it's a lemon, a bad egg in the batch :)

Contact Sherri Bogard to get replacements I did revisit a few box sets - The Powell Loy Collection and Forbidden Hollywood Volume 2 - so far so good !

Im happy Each Dawn I Die was announced for Blu-ray, my DVD I think was showing signs that it was about to crap out on me ! :D

I watched the first 4 Tarzan movies with Johnny Weissmuller and happy to report they all played fine <WHEW> !! :) The box set has 6 films so the other I still need to check on.. but the best ones IMHO are all fine !

G-Men can be replaced by an MOD of the film as it was released again by WAC not too long ago. So far this year nothing Ive watched from WHV has crapped out on me..

Sounds like Sherri Bogard will have her hands full again with disc replacements again :) I did my annual Thin Man series run and all the DVDs played fine. At least the first two are on Blu-ray now.

My original DVD release of East Side West Side played fine ! I always take a deep breath before playing their original releases in case they crap out.

In This Our Life can be exchanged for the MOD , I should know because mine crapped out on me over a year ago

Luckily Watch on the Rhine was reissued through WAC so getting a replacement shouldnt be an issue

We have already spoken enough about one user's problem, I dont know what else we can do. It's time to just report what WB DVDs are and arent working again

Simple answers for all of this : 1) WARNER ARCHIVE COLLECTION = MOD - just go to their website WBShop.com and you will see what they carry. They have re-released a lot of their catalog titles in MOD format. And they are identical to those releases. I bet some of their MOD releases happened...
