I am going through my collection of Blu-rays. I find that every one available in 3D when a movie came out, was purchased by me, even to the point of ordering from Britain and Germany. That means I have hundreds of 3D discs. My Sony set is getting older and older, as is my PS3. Have there been...
Believe it or not, “John Carter”, my first 3D purchase remains my favourite and demo. I also love what they did with “Titanic “ and “The Wizard of Oz”.
I really want to commend the people who worked on this, but is the 3D good enough to overcome critic opinion that except for "Plan 9 from Outer Space" this is probably the worst movie ever made?
We saw this in the theatre in 3D and it totally fell flat 😀! I can picture the conversation with my wife. I'd say "You know that last 3D "Jurassic World" movie we saw which was almost completely flat, and for which I have already bought the 2D Blu ray? I plan to buy it again and spend $70 CDN...
I have bought most of the classic 3D movies from the 50's as they have become available. As I said before, most are dreck, but each often has spectacular 3D sequences. I also purchased probably every 3D disc for current North American movies. It is amazing how the process can improve some...
There seems to be a mini revival of sorts right now, but the ones I have seen in the theatre have such minimal 3D that there is no way the average person would think it is worthy paying extra.
The films I never would have bought are ones that illustrate why 3D failed in the 50s, like “The Bubble”, and other such schlock. If they were on TV, I would have turned them off, but there they are on my shelf. Mind you there are some wonderful ones like “It Came From Outer space”.
Fantastic I hope this holds true for our area. With the job turn over in our area, the 12 year olds who work at our Cineplex now have probably never heard of 3D!
I have given myself rules about 3D disc purchases now. I’ll buy any from US or Canada (Dune) and until they also stopped getting them, Britain. I bought two from Germany, but what killed the Far East for me was the enormous cost of one I purchased from Hong Kong. (“Valerian and The City of 1000...
It seems to be a problem for some. We Canadians get a diet of Us tv and are often amused by the amount of times very transparent British accents are subtitled.
My father was deaf as a post, but when he was on night shift and sleeping during the day, a needle falling from a pine tree next door would wake him up!
I find that almost every movie has a lot of dialogue that is hard to hear. In the theatre for some reason, you almost accept this. I always look forward to purchasing the disc version, so I can turn on the subtitles and get every word.
We are seniors, but our hearing has tested out as normal. (...
You could wait a few years until 3D popularity returns and buy these movies when they re-discover that "WOW 3D masters were actually made for these way back in 2021"!
I also found it very sloooooooo! It also had a very confusing chronology, which I hate. Somehow, I did find it intriguing however and do plan to try it again. If it is so wonderful, why can't I see it?
There still seems to be a large group of people into 3D. I can't understand why at least one manufacturer would not make at least one TV that is 3D capable at any price. Aren't they still available in China? I know I would immediately replace my aging set.
In the fairly early days if computers, we wanted to know the showing times for this movie. Before I could stop her, my wife put XXX into the search engine! Realizing what she had done we grabbed our 10 year old and whipped her out of the room just before the onslaught of pornography began, and...
Just watched "Godzilla vs Kong"'in 3D. By the time I watched it flat with my wife, then with commentary, and now 3D, I have seen it 3X. I agree that the stereoscopic effect for the most part is modest, but it is nice to have the entire series in 3D on my shelf.
Biggest impression?
It was...
