Re: Anscocolor. the UK Talking Pictures TV channel recently showed a restored version of "The Man on the Eiffel Tower". Considering its age and the trials of working with reversal stock, it looked pretty good.
Of those he mentioned "Second Chance" cries out the loudest for restoration. I've seen it in 2D on TV and based on that, I imagine the 3D version would be very impressive.
I you're being a bit hard on "Kiss Me, Kate". If you mute the sound when Kathryn Grayson starts to screech, it's brilliant.
Howard Keel's leering is a bit OTT but the songs are terrific, even though Cole Porter's rude lyrics have been toned down from the stage version.
