Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I seem to remember Obi Wan jumping a lot higher near the end of The Phantom Menace than Anakin had to in Revenge. Inconsistent really.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

And yet totally out of sync with where this character is at this point. Vader/Anakin is a broken man and not the Vader we see in ANH or ESB. The focus should not be on how powerful he is but on how far he has fallen. He is a pitiful creation who we feel sorry for but who we also feel revulsion...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I disagree - I think Anakin could have taken Palpatine at his point of revelation. I think Palpatine took a calculated risk - he had to now that Grievous was found. That's what make it even more tragic. Anakin behaved like a Jedi should and decided to turn him over to the Council. His actions...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

All this talk of ROTS has made me watch the film again. This film has some amazing moments - Padme's Ruminations, the Order 66 sequence and the Immolation Scene, but like others has said its the way the whole of the film starts to build momentum which sets this apart from the other prequels...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Personally, as much as I like TPM, I think The Matrix deserved to win for its VFX, though either film could have won. And as others have said, its not really that ROTS hasn't been nominated but that its Narnia that's in there. Replace that with something like Batman Begins or Harry Potter and...

One scene that really caught my eye was the shot of Anakin asking the Jawas for directions to the Tusken camp. In the background is the open Jawa sandcrawler and you can actually see several Jawas inside the sandcrawler doing various things. Cant make it out properly on the DVD anyway.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I am really surprised ROTS didnt get a VFX Oscar, but what is the rub here is that a film which is clearly inferior in terms of effects got nominated. I enjoyed Narnia but the effects were awful in places. It would have been much easier to understand if Harry Potter or Batman was on the list...

Ewan's greatest performance ? I love Moulin Rouge but I still think he hasn't topped Trainspotting. But I agree that Ewan is the best thing about the prequel trilogy and the main reason why I prefer AOTC and ROTS to TPM (he is not in it enough).

Thanks Joe but the allposters ones are licensed reprints I think and I am looking to get one of the originals.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

thanks for the info. Mine is definitely like the double-sided version. Think I might have to exchange it for the single sided because I find it really strong compared to the others. So is there a legit original 1 sided or are these usually the cheap reprints you find in stores.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

ok, asking for a little advice. I recently purchased a copy of the Revenge of The Sith theatrical poster to go with my other two. I have double-sided originals of the TPM and AOTC and was looking for the same for ROTS. I was told this was original and it does include the "Property of...

The OT book was great and I doubt it will stay at this price for long. I got my OT version for about $75.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

With all the criticism directed at over-use of CGI in the film (some of which I agree with) the point which affects me most in the films is a completely CGI moment, when Yoda drops his stick as he senses something really awful is happening. Like the scene with Gollum in The Two Towers where he...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Matt, I realise that my interpretation is probably the least popular, and, up until Sith, my views on what Anakin's turn would be like, pretty much matched your own and watching Sith for the first time, this didnt change. In isolation I initially felt yes Anakin=Vader completely. Its was...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

No again, I agree. His decision to give in to the Dark Side is testament to that. I understand that most wont like my interpretation because I can see how it suggests blame is to be placed with a separate character and not Anakin. I don't see it like that and still blame Anakin for his...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I agree in respect that its Anakin who is doing this. And I dont mean possession in the sense that it can jump from person to person :) I used "possession" as the best analogy I could think of to describe what is going on within Anakin/Vader. In fact, the more I think about it, the...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

The quotes I used were to illustrate what normally happens to a Jedi who turns to the Dark Side. That is what the Jedi believe and that is what the audience is to believe. Anakin is the exception, the Chosen One and proves that it isn't actually the case, that there can still be good within...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Vader/Anakin had seen Luke commit suicide rather than turn to the dark side and then when he had the chance to turn again in Jedi, he threw away his lightsabre despite having beaten Vader. I think Vader/Anakin was convinced that Luke wasnt interested :)

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I expect it may not have worked for a possessed Reagan in The Exorcist had she gone on to kill people, but it doesnt make that a bad film. :) And, as I said, Anakin consciously made the decision to turn to the Dark Side. That in itself makes him responsible, at least in part.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Thanks Norm, but from what I have read I dont think many others will agree :) I would also say that after 5 viewings, ROTS is my second favourite of the entire saga, only slightly below Empire (probably the "nostalgia" factor). It also contains IMO the best sequences in the saga, the Order 66...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Regarding Anakin’s turn, my rather long and mixed up explanation. Bear with me. I have watched all 6 together now, specifically concentrating on Anakin’s arc. This is how I see it. The first thing is that Anakin is the first character we have actually seen turn to the dark side. There is...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I think I have found 1138 in Sith On Utapau. just after Grievous and Obi Wan are fighting, Grievous falls down after Obi Wan force pushes him. There is a shot of Obi Wan before he jumps down after him. In the background are some red computer displays and the bottom left one has 1138 on it I...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I believe the deleted Shaak Ti scene has her sitting in a chair meditating when Anakin walks in behind her and stabs her through the chair. Originally she was going to be killed by General Grievous at the start of the film in a similar manner but they changed it to Anakin during the Jedi...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

About the time of Episode I being released, I remember reading several articles about the initial idea being to have Anakin about 14-16 years old, but that Lucas had changed this to 12 and then 9 years old because he felt a younger child being separated from his mother would have more emotional...

4th time My favourite moment is still the Immolation Scene but I really love the Order 66 part as well, especially Yoda's performance when he senses something and drops his cane. Well done to ILM for that absolutely perfect character moment. I was skeptical from the moment they announced Yoda...
