Shouldnt this talk about the upconverting toshiba be in the SD section? This is the HD section. And we all agree that upconverting a SD DVD is not HD. (I kid because I love)
Hanson, Are you getting your HD truly over the air, or via cable/satellite? it is not fair to say that Blu-ray HD is the same as the HD on Sat or Cable. The amount of compression I get on my cable HD is very bad. I have no doubt that Toshiba might be able to make a DVD look as good as my HD...

I watch a lot of older TV shows on DVD. There is no magic way to make them "High Def". There is absolutely no way to get a "better or equal" picture quality from a 480p source. Except maybe in Marketing land. All of the current BD players upconvert SD DVDs now so what is new about this...
