Nothing I have ever heard has convinced me it is worth the exorbitant cost. With 11 speakers to power now it is even less likely. Hell I won't ever go with an outboard amp for Atmos, even that is a PITA IMO.
I had a professional run my wires for me, I did the drywall cuts and other install bits tho. Fishing wires is no joke, I was happy to pay for that minor expense.
One of us! One of us! Gooble Gobble!
What film are you using to break it in? Wait on Mad Max, War for Apes, Baby Driver, Blade Runner 2049 and both Pac Rims or you will spoil yourself early =)
Surprise recommendation from me: if you haven’t heard Cabin in the woods on Atmos, fix that pronto. True story, I had only ever seen this movie on an iPad while on travel. Huuuuge mistake! The Atmos track rocccccks!
You NEED to watch the beginning jungle fight and end assault/forest scenes again in Atmos. Trust me on this.
Yes. Blind buy 2049. Very different movie and best synth bass in a film ever. Incredible in Atmos
I bought the cheap AJ upfiring modules. Now I just need to find a place to get the Denon 3300 locally for $500ish like it's been at Frys. Will be weird to go from a 3312 to a 3300. Product numbering is weird
There's also these which are like the tops of my Atmos AJs I'm using upstairs. Just wondered if anyone tried the Klipshes.

Anyone with experience adding on upfiring speakers to existing kit? I'm happy with my AJs upstairs but I want to add on to my 15 year old Paradigm setup in living room. It looks like the best option might be these Klipsh's...
For those thinking about jumping into Atmos, red alert: Pioneer Andrew Jones Atmos Speakers for $170 a pair, ($85 each if you could buy seperately) at meh,com...
