I don't do a lot of artsy-fartsy shots but the mist on the plants this week was too much to resist. I even did a few fun B&W conversions!

Buuuuut, somehow my new Z5 got set to capture JPGs. Gonna have to figure that out. It...
I believe that is a sundog.

So this was fun. I was selected to be the photographer of the month for my local photo group. They showed off a few of my shots and let me blab about my interests a bit.

Very cool, John. Sorry to hear you got semi-burnt on this one.
I really respect what it takes for people to get their art into magazines, stories and other formats. It never was and never will be my bag...
Handheld, 105VR Nikkor, not sigma. I'm, uh, not exactly sure where my 150 siggy is right now... It was mostly a test shot to make sure I had things set right. The light was terrible and I was in a rush. Obviously the raw settings are dorked up.
On the Adobe vs sRGB I've had frustrations...
Wraaaaaa! First shots today with the D850 nearly ruined. I know I set the camera to shoot in RAW. No idea why it shot JPG only.
Testing Adobe RGB vice sRGB output. Lemme know what you think. This is a Dagger Moth Caterpillar. I'm pretty sure that dark spot is its eye.
AdobeRGB...
Good dog!
Love the Osprey.
Cool focus stacking! Bet you could have fun with that setup and a tilt/shift lens! One suggestion! I think shots from down lower might have more oomph to them. Not sure Bird's eye is always the right choice here. I'd experiment more, lower.
I'm not a fan of stock services but I bet that would sell like hot cakes during the Christmas season Scott. Great execution on what could be a very over done subject.
I think I'mma gonna like the Sig 150-600 and 1.4x combo... First time playing with it today and it's passing clouds and still putting up images like this...

I'm not much of a portrait photographer but I love the bokeh and fine details on this one. Wish I had gotten a slightly different angle on the face tho.

Yeah I don't think a porsche is in my future. I might be able to swing a 350z or even a 370z but a moderately newish Porsche is unlikely. Ideally I'd get the refreshed 2019 Tesla Roadster but I might have to see BOTH kidneys to do that. =)
Will have to settle for car pics in meanwhile.
