So.... not in this year's Mac Pro?
Finally:

And i finally have a thunderbolt product of my own, the g-drive 8tb G-raid.
Review soon
Yeah, so that's a non starter for me for the uses I have for it. I guess if you are using it for RAIDs it's no big deal. The separate power supply is why I took back the Little Big Disk. That and the fact that you can't bootcamp from it.
Intel needs to make Thunderbolt more prevalent and cheaper, not faster but.....

$100 off the TB display today only:

Nevermind, here's what I'm getting:

My biggest drives already support this. Done!
The ONLY way I will pay a price premium for an SSD thunderbolt drive is if Apple relents and lets you put Bootcamp on external drives which is currently not permitted by OSX. This is a terrible and dumb decision on Apple's part, and I hope they fix this soon.
No USB 3 =(

Bigger RAID from LaCie:

Engadget reviews the SSD version ($900) and find that it's expensive and fast, duh.

No mention of it being unsuitable as a bootcamp drive.
So I drove an hour north, bought the goddamn $50 cable, drove home, burned my windows ISO and started bootcamp.
Huh, the drive doesn't show as a valid target for bootcamp. Let's research this a bit:
Gotcha. The optical cables seem to be aimed at the mass storage uses more than the display. I would think that less than 1 percent of one percent of people would have this concern...
You need a 25' run for a desktop display? What am I missing here? Are you operating on a nuclear submarine with your machine in a rack in the ballast room?
Current ports compatible with future optical cables!

Little Big Disk now available:

So that's a $300 premium over a similar USB 2.0 disk. Or 4x the...
Or maybe Apple IS clueless here.... (and greedy)

Don't start a land war in asia and don't bet against Apple on stuff like this....
