I'm stunned that this movie got the most Oscar nominations this year! More than The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917. That was unexpected.
I wonder if Scorsese would say his friend George Lucas’ Star Wars films are not cinema? Because they have more in common with the Marvel films than any of his. I’m not disparaging Scorsese, who might just be our greatest living filmmaker, but I am taking issue with his claim of film being...
I'm glad this is getting good reviews. I really wish it was enough to get me excited enough to want to see it. I'm sure that I will see it, but it may be on blu-ray. I'm particularly intrigued by the Jersey City, NJ, locations.
The movie has a lot going for it. Produced by Martin Scorsese, directed by Todd Phillips, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Robert DeNiro -- all of those things alone are in its favor. But as DC films go, we just got out of their dark Zack Synder period. I was hoping for a brighter path moving forward.

I recently re-watched both Hulk films, and I enjoyed Incredible much more than Ang Lee's. Lee's film was dull in places, while the MCU film kept moving along at a nice pace. I asked my kids - to whom I showed both films - what they thought, and one said, "I like the one with the Abomination and...
