^ Yes, despite box office receipts or reviews, this will be remembered as a beautiful film. Hopefully it will be re-discovered as the first one was, and be influential in its own right.
The original was anything but a blockbuster when it came out. And this film, while a great movie, is nearly 3 hours of thoughtful, often quiet science fiction. It's a heavy lift to get the blockbuster crowd.
