It's strange to me that Star Trek, which has had so many home video releases over the last 30+ years, should be the subject of several new "holy grails" - namely, the Director's Cut of TMP, a remastered Deep Space Nine, and quality blu-rays of the other (pre-Abrams) films (except TWOK).

Not true. Every teenager and younger has seen the Star Wars films, and the Tim Burton Batmans, among others. There's no reason, with the proper motivation, that young people can't feel the same about Star Trek.
