I'd argue that they aren't even afraid of a lawsuit but instead scared that someone from "Salon" or some other high minded site that is easily outraged over anything that could possibly be misconstrued as politically incorrect will call them out on Twitter and they well get a day of bad press on...
I'm not optimistic enough at this time to think this will cause Warner to change their mind and release the controversial cartoons, I do like that they are being publicly shamed for their actions though.
I don't find it hard to believe at all that some idiot in the legal department has their gonch in a twist over these cartoons and is justifying their paycheck by having them blocked.
So who has a corporate email for Warner's legal department so that we can tell them that we don't appreciate...
It's probably safe to say the series is dead. I'm not holding my breath at any rate, and would love to have Warner surprise us all with a proper, definitive T&J release.
But that's not quite what happened though right? A person from the publicity department very graciously agreed to take our questions and concerns to the powers that be and did so. The "response" was that none of those questions or concerns would be addressed, instead the title was being...
That was my thinking when I said "That sounds like a pretty good reason to postpone the release: Change the cover art to reflect the content included." Seeing as a fuss was kicked up about the exclusion of cartoons, maybe a closer look at the release showed stills from them on the cover art, so...
Based on Jerry Becks comments, it looks like I wont be supporting classic animation from Warner's like I used to. I don;t see the point of supporting Looney Tune releases if we're never going to get all the cartoons.
They can go to hell.
I don't think any of this has anything to do with the exclusion of these cartoons. As far as we know it has nothing to do with finding materials in good shape: which would be the difficult thing in doing a fresh boxset. It's a case of not liking what's depicted in the material: a totally...
I think we should remember too that the PR person is the messenger in this case and might not get a response to the concerns we've mentioned despite their intentions. Intentions which should be applauded since it would be far easier to ignore. :)
I don't have a question, since my concerns have been addressed by the members above. I offer a solution: Include the "controversial" cartoons completely restored but in the "Extras" section so that they wont play automatically when "Play All" is selected. It's a compromise that I'm sure many of...
If this is in fact a censorship issue, then the Warner Brothers team are idiots who don;t understand the possibilities of authoring Blurays so that the consumer is in complete control of what they are watching. Very disappointing. I'll still buy these to have the toons, but it's a shame this...
