I noticed Foster in a cameo at the tail end of a S9 episode of The Beverly Hillbillies playing your average "man on the street" who was playing straight to the zaniness surrounding the bank.
Brian and Orchestra did Christmas? I'll have to look for that! I love their cover of "Jump, Jive, and Wail."
Christmas doesn't end for me on 12-25. I know I've shared before, but I'll start decorating in mid-October, and I'll probably keep my decorations up through January as well as listening...
I have the LP soundtrack of that. My grandmother bought it for me in the late 70's, probably '77. The cover is beat to pieces, and the LP doesn't look much better. I digitized it and used some simple noise reduction and it turned out fairly good. I might have to listen to it soon.
While I enjoy all of the seasons, S5 and S6 were the last of the extremely good episodes. S7 had too many story arcs and Milburn Drysdale started getting "out there" with his money obsession.
I viewed several O&H episodes this morning that I have on the trusty flash drive hooked in my blu-ray player. My mother was sitting and laughing at them, too. She just had a cataract removed Monday, so it gives me a good feeling to see her getting a laugh watching them knowing she can actually...
I have the Jack Benny from 1960 on my flash drive also. Poor Mel Blanc! I know he's more familiar to people for Looney Tunes, but what an actor as well. I worked in retail for years, and though I never had a customer as bad as Jack was playing, I feel sorry for Mel, even though I know it's all...
I think I may give Ms. Patti Page a rest tomorrow (I'm on a Patti Page kick after listening to her Christmas albums a few days ago) and catch some stuff on YouTube. I'll also have to watch the S5 Christmas episode of The Beverly Hillbillies where the Clampetts get a job at the department store...
I do things a bit differently. I like falling asleep to TV, so if I'm not watching something online, I have a flash drive full of The Beverly Hillbillies and Memphis Wrestling, and I'll choose what I want to doze off to. I keep the Christmas episodes in the rotation (yes, there's a clip of a...
Yes, sir, it is! I'll be the ripe young age of 42 Friday, a birthday I also share with Max Baer, Jr.!!! I'll likely dig out my Columbia House VHS of The Beverly Hillbillies/Petticoat Junction crossover episodes. I wish Constantly Being Stalled would get off their haunches and finish up both series!
Sounds interesting. I used to not be able to stand Mahalia's singing and would even poke fun at her. About 17 or 18 years ago, she really started to grow on me, and I thoroughly enjoy hearing her.
You'll have to scout out a Columbia House VHS tape for "The Thanksgiving Spirit" on The Beverly Hillbillies; it hasn't been out on DVD yet. The one plus is the Columbia House tapes weren't copy protected, so they can be dubbed off to DVD without a problem.
The Thanksgiving Spirit. The Clampetts visit Hooterville, ending with the casts of The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction having dinner, plus Mr. and Mrs. Douglas from Green Acres make a cameo as well.
I had a friend of mine sell me on the idea of the 12 days of Christmas. Being a Christmas freak already who loves decorations and the music (aside from the serious religious aspect of it), it gives me an excuse to keep up the tree and still listen to music until the early part of January! :B)
I've been too busy recording Christmas LP's to my computer. Call me a perfectionist but I upgraded my stylus/cart and it sounds better than the last one, so I'm in a mad rush to get that done! Next year I'll have time to get some TV time in :D
