Good point. I think that's why think so highly of certain SF films such as 2001, Forbidden Planet, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. They are genuine science fiction.

TGBAU is one of my favorite movies. I found OUATITW to be quite boring.

Liking or not liking or not watching a movie just because other people do or don't strikes me as overly sensitive to what other people think. Why should I care? OTOH, not liking a particular genre or director is basing one's actions on what one thinks. For the record, I think Citizen Kane is...
