Winks had some good moments. I especially like Hugh Grant’s part. However it didn’t take long for me to conclude it wasn’t a necessary movie.

Yeah it does have some pretty far fetched plot lines but still I'd rather see it even as animated movie to all there prequels, sequels, etc...

I saw it the other day with my daughter. We both liked it but for me it's hard to beat the actual original story with Wilder in the titular role. It occurred to me that no one has made the only other Roald Dahl story he wrote about Wonka and Charlie which is Charlie and the Great Glass...

Not the same as seeing it play out but there’s a line or two of dialogue by Wilder’s Wonka where he talks about inviting them to come live with him in the factory to avoid the horrors of where they were from. Something about being eaten by viscous “kinids” and wangdoodles. 😱
