One more thing, I never liked that old Warner logo, so I have zero problem with the new one which I find more appealing to watch on my OLED. As to the cover art, it's not my thing to care a great deal about cover art, but I can understand why others are upset about it because cover art is...
To each his own because I thought The Exorcist 4K/UHD looked fine on my OLEDs. With that said, I have no defense over the cover art and no new bonus material.
After reading a review at the other site, I can now understand why some people have a negative reaction to this 4K/UHD release without actually seeing it. Oh well, I think it's a beautiful looking video presentation.
To be fair, everyone is welcome to their opinion whether I agree with it or not. Furthermore, any purchasing decision is strictly a personal decision that only applies to oneself. In short, it's none of my business except my purchasing decision.
Furthermore, it's not difficult for such memories to be muddled by years of seeing that film on home video formats from the LD and VHS/Beta formats to DVD and Blu-ray formats. Not to mention any viewings on HBO and such.
However, how do we know the framing and color timing was correct on previous releases? I do agree with you about the opening logo and cover art, both issues that I view as minor compared to other people having a major issue with them.
That's a completely different story because you're replacing a totally different studio with another studio logo. Frankly, I think the updated Warner logo used for The Exorcist looks better to my eyes than the old 1972-1984 logo which I never was fond of in the first place.
I received my 4K/UHD today and watched the theatrical cut which was on disc two. I plan on watching the extended director’s cut on disc one in the very near future. Anyhow, below is a quick photo from the end credits for the theatrical cut on disc two. The movie looks beautiful and it still...
Great, mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I'm thinking of watching the theatrical cut first since it's been years since I last watched it. Next month, I'll watch the other version.
