Thank you for the kind words, but I was just joking with my facetious post. In a more serious manner, my main criticism of the movie is 201 minutes runtime is a bit much.
How about giving me a cookie. :D I watched that 201 minutes long movie when this list first came out. Unlike Tony, who watched the movie in several increments, it only took me a second sitting to watch the entire movie. After watching the first 30 minutes one day to pique my interest, a few...
Thank you for reaffirming the correct decision I made ignoring that link. I don't need exposure to another ass****, I already deal with enough of those type.
Last night, I did watch most of those extras that were on the Criterion Channel. I haven't finished that hour long documentary yet, but will do so in the near future. Watching those extras did help me to appreciate the length of the film more so than before I started to watch the movie.
After watching Jeanne Dielman 23 in its entirety, I can truthfully say in my opinion that this shouldn't have been voted the greatest film ever made, even with an ending that might have been shocking to some people. With that said, it's a really good film, but it's overrated in that movie poll...
It's about the only break I got with that film. Like I said, I haven't watched it since the DVD came out. I never bother to upgrade to Blu-ray. Now, if it came out on 4K disc, I might try to watch it again which would be my third view.
Hell, Barry Lyndon leaves me cold, so much so I haven’t watched it in over 20 years. By the way, if you think The Shining is too long, I hate to see what you think of Barry Lyndon.:)
You know what, you're not talking to any rookies here when it comes to movies as we all know you have to watch the entire movie to fully appreciate what you just seen. Not in this thread anyway.
