So much for me trying to keep this discussion on topic.:rolling-smiley: Anyhow, I'm out, as I don't care how people watch and/or collect their movies. Streaming, discs, or going to the movies are all fine with me.
No room! I have 13 book cases with six shelves each plus the top of each case for disc storage and I'm at 90% storage capacity for my disc library. Those 13 book cases are in four different rooms in my multi-floor condo. I'm about out of storage space.
I had a huge video tape collection with both Beta and VHS tapes. I ended throwing away hundreds of tapes. Once I bought that first Sony DVD player released in 1997, my tape collection became obsolete.
Regarding physical media, "Black Friday" deals have started across different retailers. Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart are discounting 4K discs as low as $7.99-9.99. I purchased a handful of them this morning despite me all ready having their 4K digitals.
It's difficult to quantify the percentages, but I suspect more of us stream some material than what they admit to on this forum. That's just my gut feeling. Of course, I'm talking about those that have capability to quality streaming and not that buffered crap we had on Amazon not too many...
I will merge this thread with another thread that was started just last month.
Update: Posts from another thread have been merged into this thread that has been talking about the subject matter of why people prefer "physical media over streaming". Some posts have been edited for making...
I don't know how you came to that conclusion as this forum has definitely been pro-physical media.
Anyhow, you still haven't given me a good enough reason(s) not to merge this thread with a prior thread. I'll think about, but I'm leaning towards merging this thread to the one I linked.
I just linked one of several threads that has advocated purchasing discs over streaming. Matter of fact, just about every thread that even discusses discs vs. streaming has favored physical media over streaming. The advocates of discs continues to outnumbered streaming advocates on this forum...
I have one of the largest disc libraries on this forum, but I don't understand why this subject matter deserves yet another thread in which previous threads discussed the same sentiment towards physical media? Like this thread for example.
