This morning Amazon.de issued a refund for my first order that has never showed up nor has the tracking information been updated since September 15th. Furthermore, they're refunding me the shipping cost of my second order which arrived this past Tuesday.
Some good news, I took a chance and reordered this title on September 29th. This time I changed the shipping method to the more expensive option. It arrived today on October 4th from Germany to Mid-Michigan in less than a week.

I was wrong, my Blu-ray wasn't delivered today as something else came in. Right now, I don't have any idea where my Blu-ray is because the last update I got from Amazon.de was back on September 15th. I'm stuck in "missing item" purgatory.
I could think of a couple reasons which has to do with quality concerns, being it’s from Germany makes it more difficult to return if the video and/or audio is not good, and the relatively high purchase price.
Regardless to what Amazon and Bezos is worth, it's still $9B as such corporations still are careful with such acquisition expenditures. Anyhow, as I previously stated beforehand, their complete cost analysis probably supports this possible purchase.
As to MGM's catalog, who knows what Amazon...
