It's one of those movies that I now have to watch over two different settings.

I've seen some of that, but not to the extent that I regret buying this 4K disc as it looks significantly better than my old Blu-ray.

Now, you got me confused which is relatively easy to do.:) Are you now saying this 4K disc looks horrible on your Sony OLED? If so, what exactly are your issues with it.

I just sampled huge sequences of this 4K/Dolby Vision disc and for the most part I thought it looked very good. This movie was never good looking to begin with and I have noticed some "black" issues, but overall it's a significant improvement over my 2012 Blu-ray.

I just received my 4K so I'm popping it into my Oppo 203 right now to sample it on my 55" LG OLED display.

My 4K disc has shipped so I'll be watching this disc next week.

You're right about it being a very grainy film.

How come there is a loss of shadow detail?

Something tells me once I get my 4K disc and watch it on my LG OLED that it's going to be a noticeable improvement over my 2012 Blu-ray. At least, that's my hope.:)
