I agree with that 100% Doug. We DO have a say, with our pocket books. Havent a few movie download services already failed? I was thinking Wal-Mart had some such thing? Maybe i just worked to much today, and only think i remember reading that?

I cant see average people paying for the computer/ISP that downloads would really need. A movie or TV episode is not the same as a song. I am sure it will happen, but not as soon as some (computer geeks)would like. Asking a computer geek if downloads are the future of home theater is about the...

I thought this thread was done over 5 pages ago. It keeps going in circles. I just got home from work, funny that the posts of today, look just like the ones from the weekend. Anyone who wants to add me to ignore, its OK, i understand. :)

I believe that its satisfying. I enjoy watching Farscape, and the new Battlestar Galactica on my 50" Plasma, played on my Sony Blu-ray, doing the upconversion. It looks really good, but it doesnt look as good as almost any of my Blu-ray discs. To be honest, a few of my older DVDs, like...

You guys would say that. But as i recall, the price of Blu-ray and HDDVD were the same. Some HD discs were even more expensive if you had the other side in standard DVD. The circle is complete, again! You want to see $5 Blu-ray discs, we get it. Once again, i do agree that a few of the...

I agree with Crawdaddy on the price of Blu-ray players. Of course they went back up, they went down for Christmas, and now are back at regular prices. Just like the price of TVs went down around Super Bowl time. I can set my watch to it.

Nope, that is for sure. I think the studios are finding people are getting used to waiting a few months and buying DVDs on sale. I know i have picked up titles on standard DVD in the $5 range that i wouldnt ordinarily buy on DVD, much less Blu-ray. In the case of hardware, for me, and only me...

I guess i did. I should take notes when we are talking about more than one thing in a thread. Not to mention the hours that past between posts, and the other threads i have posted in. A guy, like me, could get lost, apparently.

I thought we were talking about the low cost of HD DVD players, and the high price of Blu-ray (Sony) was going to keep people away. I didnt know we switched gears to software.

I am sorry i hope you dont think i am picking on you. I am just trying to understand where you are going with this. I am no Sony fanboy, but i dont think they are evil either. Sony makes a damn fine TV, receiver, and Blu-ray player. I cant speak for anything else, cause thats all the Sony stuff...

David Wilkins, you are 100% right. No one owes me anything. This HT stuff is what i do for fun. I sure as hell dont need the most expensive stuff out, but i am going to get the best i can afford! Seems Joe 6 pack just wants cheap, who cares if the $50 VCR only works a month...its 50 bucks...

This is not a cheap hobby, and i feel your a little pissed that its not. I want a new center channel speaker in my living room, the old one is a tad small. I have Paradigm speakers, not cheap, but also not the most expensive. A new one is going to cost $400, and i will gladly pay for it once i...

I dont get this...$300 is to much for a Blu-ray player that your going to hook up to your $1500 to $15,000 Plasma, so you can watch REAL HD on said plasma? I must come from another planet. It send shivers down my spine that between my wife and i, we spend close to $300 a month on GAS, even more...

Yea, well good luck with that FOX. I didnt like AVP enough to buy it cheap on DVD, much less the $30 or so FOX asks for it on the current Blu-ray. How much do you think the double dip will cost? $40, because it has so much cool stuff now? Now if they said they made the movie better...we might be...

I thought they had been pressed a while ago, and had been recalled to slap new cover art that reflected the fact that" no special features" were on the discs. I had read they had originally listed the same features that were on the DVD. And Cees even owns the thing! :)

You said it right there! That is why i will never trust downloads as my primary movie library. I would never really own a copy of it, and they could delete it.
