In ROTJ, I thought that Wedge kinda lapsed into a British accent ("stay alert, we can run out of space real fast"), while having an American accent in ANH and ESB.

Still, it's good to see that the public is warming up to SW once again, as many of its detractors have pointed out its waning popularity with the general population since the PT was released.
As to why Vader prevents Luke from killing Sideous in ROTJ, the novelization says that Vader felt that Luke wasn't sufficently ready to fully embrace the dark side at this point and if he killed Sideous then Luke would go and help his friends instead of becoming a Sith.
Like Maul and Dooku before him, Grievous serves as a foreshadow of what Vader will become.
