Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

I didn't realize that there's a fan either! Haven't looked inside of mine yet, but I've also never heard it turn on...so if it has, it must be dead silent. Might be one of the reasons the amp runs so cool. This is very comforting to know if I ever decide to get 4 ohm speakers.

Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

I've had my MM9000 for about four weeks now, and never at any time did I notice even the slightest hum. In fact, it's been dead silent when not playing material, and even up close to te component itself, it's hard to tell it's even turned on because of the silence and coolness of temperature (I...

Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

My trigger works just fine. You probably want to plug the amp in on a different circuit than the rest of your equipment. I use a 1/8" mini stereo to L/R RCA adaptor, then a stereo to mono RCA adaptor to connect to the Marantz's trigger jack. On my Denon AVR 2803, I have to go into one of the...

Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

More wattage isn't necessarily a guage of quality. For most home theater environments, 85 honest watts is plenty of power, especially if you have efficient speakers (89+ dB sensitivity). Where the extra watts come into play are as you turn up really loud and want as much clean headroom as...

Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

It seems that Marantz's venture into separates wasn't as widely acknowledged as other affordable companies like Adcom, NAD, et al. I'm still looking to get a couple of those monoblocks. Denon, Yamaha, Sony, and HK have also put out separate amps over the years, but you don't hear much about them...

Marantz MM9000....is it worth the purchase?

I got one a month ago with that same deal. It arrived in three days. It works fine and is a definite upgrade over just about any receiver's power section (using mine with a Denon AVR2803 as pre/pro). It's easy to set up and the auto on/off trigger works perfectly. Neutral sounding and runs quite...
