Its listed as HD. I think they are the DVD SD masters upconverted to HD as we were guessing.

The DVD's were black and white only and since its being assumed that that is the source I would be shocked if they weren't. The DVD's have much newer masters then those old cable masters which probably are not suitable for HD conversion.

That would be my guess. We are lucky to be getting any older material from them since they have little interest in it so I'm sure they did not go out of their way to create new masters.

Finally some older content coming to Disney Plus. Zorro Season 1 and 2 on Disney Plus October 5th. I'm excited about this. Hopefully a step in the right direction for more of their Classic TV and Live Action films.

Interesting aspect ratio for Imax if the article is correct stating 1.90:1. Interesting that they wouldn't just use 1.85:1 or 1.78:1. But any of these ratios will definitely look better and more cinematic than the Justice League directors cut in 1.37:1

Agreed except I think Video store rentals but not purchases went to streaming as well. Where did all the disc renters from blockbuster and other stores go? They are not purchasing discs as most renters never did they went to streaming.

I also read Island at the top of the World(1974) and Third man on the mountain(1959) are also coming on April 2nd these are the 1st classic live action Disney movies added in at least 6 months. If they could just add 2 of these every month they would make a lot of subscribers happy and probably...

I just wish they would add to their 1950's - early 1980's classic Disney live action and tv shows. They started with at best 30% of that catalog and have barely increased it since launch with 0 new additions this year so far. I know many are not HD ready yet but I thought they would be working...

They announced Season 3 of Mandolorian then about a week later when they announced all the Star Wars shows they confirmed a Boba Fett and Asako Tano spin off shows. So I think that confirms they are separate. With Baby Yoda/Grogu being more popular than Mando I doubt they would abandon the...

Wow finally other than My Dog the thief this is the 1st pre 1980 Disney live action movie they have added since launch. I better watch this quick before it gets cut and edited like The Bears and I. Update: Just saw that this is actually a 26 minute animated short feature and not a live action...

Weird about The Bears and I can't see what would need to be edited. Probably just PC stuff which would probably end up changing the whole point of the movie. I'm glad I watched this one twice in December.

With all the other classic live action Disney films that currently have HD masters available its disappointing that they have not added any since launch. I was expecting them to at least add 2-3 a month. There are lots of them that are for sale on Vudu/ITunes and quite a few that have shown in...

So far they have added almost nothing new from before 1990. They have added quite a few Disney channel shows and movies from later than 1990 and their new original programming. Hopefully they will start adding a lot more older content soon. They have over 100 hundred live action films from...

Not an on/off button but you just hit the right arrow key so that it highlights the small movie box and hit enter and it brings the credits back up. Just two buttons on the remote and credits are back so yes its annoying but not at all hard to navigate. Netflix does exactly the same thing but I...

Well I can report that Disney plus does read their feedback and suggestions and take them serious. 2 weeks ago I sent them a message pointing out that Treasure of Matecumbe (1976) was incorrect since it was being presented in full screen even though TCM had shown it in 1.75:1 two years ago. So a...

That could be true for the early ones but they skipped over some too which is why I noticed it immediately. I think it had to due with time constraints to keep the episode around an hour. This is the approx. timeline: Monsters Inc. 2004 Tower of Terror -2005 or 2006 Toy Story Mania 2008 World of...

It is still the underdog park despite many great upgrades. I like it alot too and was there the 1st month it opened. Its great to see how it has evolved over the years. The Imagineering story shows they added Toy Story Mania, World of Color and Cars Land to improve the park but they left out...

I read somewhere else that it would be 7 months after theatrical release. I think they were basing that as the same as it was for Netflix. 4 months for Digital download/Blu Ray/DVD, 7 months for streaming. So good chance we will see Aladin at the end of December. Probably January for Toy Story 4...

The exact article said TV shows will not leave and "most" movies will not leave until at least 2025. I seriously doubt a money making company like Disney would give up all the possible future licensing deals to other providers, tv, etc, and sales on future home media after discs; possibly glass...

Pretty glitchy program so far. Can't add email, can't sign up with the Disney Visa offer. Pretty disappointing for a Disney product. I'm expecting it to crash and lag a lot the 1st few months based on all this. I see several forums with people complaining they can't sign up with Disney Visa...

Those will be deal breakers fo me too and if the 60's and 70's live action Disney films are included since The Disney Movie club has largely abandoned those over the past 2 years.
