    Star Trek future movies?

I still feel the TNG crew could've done one more film ... Patrick Stewart still looks pretty much the same in X3 as he did during the TNG films. They should've gotten a proper send-off .... the OT crew got another chance after the disasterous Star Trek V.

    Star Trek future movies?

As oddly interesting as a Starfleet Academy movie sounds (there's gotta be a Police Academey party scene in there somewhere too, right?) ... they 100% made the right call in going back to Meyer and doing Star Trek VI.

    Star Trek future movies?

To be honest, I felt the early two seasons of Star Trek: TNG were pretty awful ... the show got much better in its 3rd and 4th seasons. Deep Space Nine also developed into a quite a unique and well written show in its own right. I think Voyager is where some cracks started to show. I...

    Star Trek future movies?

Saying Star Trek is dead because Gene Roddenberry is dead is a bit overdramatic don't ya think? First off there's been a lot of good Trek stuff done since Mr. Roddenbery passed away, and Star Trek is bigger than just one person. Trek will move on, it's too rich of a universe and...

    Star Trek future movies?

I guess the question now with a TNG film is will Brent Spinner want to be involved and can he hold up as Data/B4 in makeup? If they could get Bryan Singer, that's obviously a direction they should jump on, regardless of Superman. Singer's more "realistic/character driven" sensibility...

    Star Trek future movies?

I think what Meyer is good at is he makes a *movie*, not a big-budget TV episode. Star Trek II and VI are definitely meant for the big screen. Also while he isn't exactly a Trek-expert by any means and does take liberty with things here and there, he does respect the relationships between...

    Star Trek future movies?

Nick Meyer doing a proper send off for the TNG crew would definitely be interesting. Problem is would Brent Spinner be game to come back one more time.

    Star Trek future movies?

Colin makes a very good point. A lot of people thought Star Trek was finished with Star Trek V, but 2 1/2 years later, Star Trek VI did very well. It may be just more of an issue of a getting a very good script and the right director. Why didn't they ever give Nicholas Meyer (Star...

    Star Trek future movies?

I don't think Paramount ever really wanted DS9 on the big screen. It just seemed like they would've preferred Voyager (bleh) with the cameos from Janeway and the Doctor, but the show never got popular enough to sustain a movie. Maybe a DS9 Vs. Voyager movie, lol, since "VS." films are all...

    Star Trek future movies?

I don't think they need to do something "radical", just get a good script and a good story. Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II, writer on IV, VI) would be the obvious choice. It's just too bad the TNG cast seems set on not doing another film. Paramount is probably gonna be really, really...

Yeah I'm 24 and it felt weird just typing that out, lol.

    Star Trek future movies?

Yeah. I think they need to go forward, but who knows by 2010-ish, they may be ready to make a full blown third-generation Star Trek TV series. After all that'd be 23 years after TNG started its run. My feeling is though that Paramount really is stuck. I think they were grooming Voyager...

    Star Trek future movies?

I actually did not like the story that much in First Contact. Entertaining, sure, but stay away from the time travel plot lines. Yeah and definitely Spinner and Stewart should not have creative control. I can understand Frakes directing, but you can't have too many chefs and only one kitchen.

The series finale for TNG is definitely not even one of the top 10 episodes in my opinion.

    Star Trek future movies?

I don't think any of the TNG movies really took advantage of the strengths of the TNG TV series, which were the cast chemistry, ensemble nature, etc. Each movie boiled down to some silly high concept as well and kinda sucked the humanity/humor out of the proceedings. Also another thing...

    Star Trek future movies?

Personally I think Paramount should bring in Nicolas Meyer and give the TNG crew a proper send off. Star Trek II and Star Trek VI are both very well done. And Brent Spinner/Patrick Stewart need to just lay off and play their roles instead of dominating the movies. Obviously Star Trek...
