I believe the first soundtrack CD album of TARAS BULBA was on the defunct label RYKO. Years after that release Kritzerland released a limited version with improved sound. That's where it stands for the original recording which in fact is a rerecording with a smaller orchestra. A few year(s)...
The prospect of the MGM/UA vaults finally being opened is a very exciting prospect. Also, this leaves open the possibility that MGM may one day look(before it's too late even for home video) at the titles that need restoration. Certainly MAD WORLD and THE ALAMO have many fans here on this forum...
RE: THE MUSIC LOVERS. Then if the rumored TT/MGM deal materializes this is a title which may make it! I'll add to the poster who added HAWAII to the requests-hopefully the restored full length Roadshow version if/when it comes out!
Thought it was WB through one of the Turner purchases. I could be wrong and it is in fact MGM. If so, perhaps through Twilight Time we'll get a blu ray release!
