Again, I go to the chain mail analogy, when people stop passing that tape around, the killing stops, but passing the tape around, and letting people watch it, people die. It's like Samara just set things in motion, finding her body is a red herring, it doesn't stop the killings.
How about looking at this film like this:
"The Ring" is the ultimate chain (e)mail, meaning, if you don't pass it along and let Samara be heard, you die in 7 days.

But it's tracking so well on Rotten Tomatoes. :D Just up to around 70% favorable.
I saw it, it was okay, and does build on the previous scenes until it gets to its conclusion. It is a bit on the eerie side.
