Or that floating on lava makes it harder to push off the little platform. OB1 makes the jump, and knew how far up Anakin could possibly jump and OB1 put himself in prime limb-chopping position for the counter.
If I get a chance to read a book, chances are that it doesn't get made into a movie, or I've forgotten enough of the details so that a film of it only bores me if the dialogue is clunky and the directorial choices are of the head-scratching variety . As far as Serenity and ROTS, just...
Maybe some people are dozing off in ROTS, judging by the questions being asked in this thread. :) I admit to getting a little drowsy on my second viewing of this film. Perhaps the lack of the uncertainty factor in the fates of the characters made me not as engaged in this film as I'd like to be...
Hey Dave Mack, high-5 on "Luke Lars"! (People look at me like I'm nutty for making that suggestion a few pages ago. It's a big plothole, but people keep trying to minimize it at a time where any slip-up meant certain capture of the twins.)
This just in: "Noooo!!!" has taken the lead in the pop cultural relevance poll. Odds are good it'll be the most oft-repeated line of dialogue from ROTS. :) Supposedly Han freed Chewie in a slave situation some time before ANH, thus, Chewie owes Han a debt of freedom, and he serves as first...
What I like about this quote is how Ewan pronounces the last word "speh-shul-AL-li-tee" instead of the usual American way of "speh-shul-tee". The gleam in his eye when he says it to the Chancellor gives it all the irony for the situation. The other that is fun to say is: "POWERRRRR...
I think this is why some people, based on Ben's tale to Luke in ANH, thought Anakin's turn to the dark side would have happened after OB1 turned him into the human briquette, and Sidious swooped in to save Anakin (after laying down the foundation already being a favorite of Palpatine), thus...
Well, Tatooine is a dry planet, so it probably does age "humans" quicker than a planet with a better moisture content in the atmosphere. To me, there was no way Anakin would have turned after becoming the human briquette because we knew Anakin and OB1 would duel near lava pits, and why would...
Upon additional viewing, I still find some of the dialogue just bad. Then again, I find Anakin's speech pattern to be like listening to an annoying little boy with a big bad light saber at times. It's the strange monotonous delivery that just feels forced (bad pun) and so unnatural and mopey...
It's too bad that Lucas & Company never cared to fix the lack of inertial movement whenever the Siths and Jedis do their flips and jumps, as they don't look natural at all. And also, when OB1 was riding that creature in his skirmish with Grievous, the movements also looked like bad stop action...
I still want to know why Luke's name isn't Luke Lars, or why he'd be called by his Skywalker surname by his aunt and uncle, given the stakes, especially if Yoda and OB1's intention was to hide the twins from being discovered by the Sith.
Why isn't Luke's name: Luke Lars? Do Obi-wan and Yoda know that Anakin survived as Darth Vader? Or just that the emperor would want the offspring of Anakin? Wasn't Tarkin played by Wayne Pygram (of Farscape fame)? No trickery there.
Hey Ron, no need for spoiler blocks in the discussion thread (only need them in the review thread). I think Darth Plagious discovered the secret of immortality: or at least in looking younger: BOTOX!!!
This could have been a real nasty R-rated film if Lucas ever wanted to go really dark. Let's be glad lightsabre wounds get cauterized, else, it'd be really bloody. Yoda force-slapping the imperial guards against the wall at Palpatine's got a huge laugh from the audience.
Anyone confused as to the time frame of this film, because how far along was Padme when Anakin returns home from the Palpatine rescue? And was she only 7 months along when she delivered the twins? Or did they remain in hiding until she carried the twins to a 9-month term? Alas, poor Padme...
In some respects, for me, the dialogue delivery from Hayden was worse than Napolean Dynamite's normal stunted speech pattern. I know I heard the bad dialogue delivery that others are either ignoring, or just not concerned about how cardboardish the delivery is for Anakin in the 2nd act (mainly...
My theater featured some nice bass from the get-go. I thought the video presentation to be a little soft on the print I saw last night. Most of the "intimate" scenes between Anakin and Padme did not deliver anything remotely resembling a love story unfolding, the folks in attendance at...
