Got my copy yesterday and sampled the discs. All look excellent! I wasn't expecting Topaz of all movies to have such a wow factor in the visuals. Just gorgeous color on all of these. Rope's hidden cuts are now seamless. Frenzy is a gigantic improvement over the Blu, too.
I recall the correct replacement looks identical while the incorrect replacement looks different. Because I lost track of which disc was which, I had to play all six discs (Blu and UHD) to figure out, but found the rain and wipers made it easy since I could compare to the 15-film set Blu.
Psycho had a bit of a fiasco where the replacement discs still had the wrong mix. Easiest way to figure out if you have a fixed disc is to listen to the rain at the start of the chapter after Marion arrives at a certain hotel. You'll be able to tell whether it's original or not from the sound of...
First time ordering from GRUV, but $44 is hard to turn down. Mainly just want Shadow of a Doubt and Marnie, but I bet The Trouble with Harry will be a knockout and it’ll be nice to have a watchable Family Plot.
Sorry if this was brought up before, but did anyone else have a freezing problem with Vertigo about 48 minutes into the film? Is this a player (Sony UBP-X700) issue or a disc issue?
