Dear RAH,
Frustration.
I set out to see "MFL" both in 2K and 4K.
Saw it once, in a 2K theatre.
I had never asked for a day off from work, before; but it was a MUST when attempting to see "MFL" in a 4K venue
Got that Sunday off and ventured to the 4K theater' but it was there where the film...
Lot's to say about my 2K experience with "My Fair Lady", which was shown in a 77 year-old movie house.
But I will refrain, until I've also experienced the 4K venue within these next few days.
Nonetheless, I would be remiss not to share one comment made by an 88 year-old woman, who was in...
As I reported last week; my first attempt at attending "My Fair Lady" had led to the event being cancelled 25 minutes after it was supposed to start.
They had no idea how to run the film at all.
It all ended with the manager giving out refunds plus an additional free pass to other movies...
To see Professor Higgins you must take a taxi; just as Eliza would have.
Otherwise, introduce a friend to the world of restoration and to "My Fair Lady".
Offer to purchase the tickets in exchange for giving you a ride.
And for good measure, you may also want to throw in a glass of Port.
But...
What's going on in NYC?
I traveled 4 hours by train to see to first restoration of "Lawrence of Arabia" at the Ziegfeld, a quarter of a century ago.
I sincerely mourn for the city audiences of today who don't have venues such as these available to them.
Is the Ziegfeld no longer a premiere...
Dear Robert A. Harris,
Thank you for taking the time in capturing and supplying the HTF membership with the complete list of theaters showing "My Fair Lady" in 4K.
I am so thrilled and encouraged to see that restorations are finally being showcased en masse and given their proper...
I should clarify my earlier post (#50), as I realize my question was based more on my personal experiences with "My Fair Lady"; rather than what so many others may have experienced.
In 1964, I saw a 35mm presentation at my local theater.
In 1994, I saw the restoration in Toronto.
So, in...
I wouldn't turn my back on a 2K theatrical showing of "MFL", either.
But, as I asked in Post #49, I wonder how we can capture just which of these theaters are showing "MFL" in 4K; as I would make the pilgrimage. Is such information usually identified within the marketing? Take for instance...
Thanks for clarifying.
True, it can not be surpassed; the technology can only reveal that which was already there; but what we will be hearing is something that has not been experienced since the Roadshow sound designs of 1964. Right?
If so, then to my mind (or ear) this would be, in and of...
Question #2 for RAH,
If the quality of 1964's sound design has been matched or surpassed, are you able to estimate at what percentage that may be?

Greetings RAH,
For those of us who are making our perspective pilgrimages to the October 18th viewing of "MFL"...
How can we have clarified for us as to which theater is presenting your restoration in 4K? Many theaters, nowadays, makes it difficult to get beyond an automated...
Exhilarating...on every front and at every level !!!
I have much too much to say;
and altogether much too much to be grateful for.
