It's not saying much, but The Blue Dahlia actually looks much better than The Big Steal.

I received my copy of The Big Steal yesterday and the transfer is probably one of the worst I've seen in a very long time, except maybe some PD releases. Even when you turn off the color of your display the image looks fuzzy and out of focus. Nice job Universal!

Ivy Mike: I think it's highly unlikely that we'll see a new Kiss Me Deadly DVD soon, given the uncertain status of MGM's future release policies.

The German Kinowelt release of Angel Face looks horrible, it's a very poor NTSC to PAL conversion. Plus there are forced subtitles in some scenes that were previously missing in the German version.

Are there any other R2 releases from Germany not on the list...? Herb, besides Leave Her To Heaven none that I can think of right now. And you included that one already on the list. Again, thanks for this great thread! Oliver

Herb, that's exactly what happend to me with Murder My Sweet. Another Company worth checking out is Wild Side from France, they have released a great looking T-Men/Raw Deal set and some other Noirs. Only problem with their releases, besides high prices and limited availability, are their...

Herb, I have all of the three BFI Preminger discs. The quality is good, not Casablana;), but those are good solid transfers. Check out the review at dvdbeaver.com including screenshots. Regarding the Montparnasse discs: I only have their edition of Murder my sweet and it's an ok transfer...
