The problem with some of these Arrow releases is that they release movies on UHD that do not even have full 1080p detail:

Compression of grainy movies can be tricky and decisions can be made in one direction or another. Nothing wrong with choosing somebody who respects this.
Even if it looks as good as it possibly can it may not be as good as many of us hope. Flash Gordon is a good example of a movie that does not really look great even with a UHD release.

Doesn't matter how lovely the original photography is, that BlowUp I saw looked very bad.
I also do not hold the Universal Blu-ray in high regard, it looks dated and it gives the movie a video look.
So I happen to like the cinematography and I am sure there is a good looking movie somewhere...
I saw it on home video and as a 70mm BlowUp and it looked very bad in both cases apart from a few desert scenes if I recall correctly. My guess is that overall this will never look very good when taking into account the amount of special effects and how most of the movie was shot.
