    I'd say the Pacific war in general is not as well known here as the European campaign which is to be expected. I would guess that Dunkirk is looked at as retreating which can be seen as a failure, the Battle of Britain was a victory in the air and stopped prospects of a German invasion and D-Day...

    There was a 3 part BBC show called Dunkirk, can't believe it is already over 10 years old. It was a mixture of footage and dramatisation. All 3 parts are now on youtube, not sure if it is region restricted.

    It is strange that the events of Dunkirk aren't more well known. I guess the evacuation could be seen as not as glamorous as D-Day or the Battle of Britain. It was certainly a key event in the war and coined the phrase Dunkirk spirit. This film is a good opportunity to make more people aware of it.
