At this point it's pointless to hold the rights for a movie that will probably never been made. Sure, Sci-Fi has a show and that would be a good reason to throw the episodes out there, but right now it's either getting a different region ala Hardcastle and McCormick/Riptide or just not bothering...

Sadly enough, the only way we may get an answer on the series is if a movie was being made. Hollywood loves to use movies as an excuse to put out the original series. Granted that's not always the case--since the third Mission Impossible movie only got the series into release in September--but...
