Yes, the BBC's Threads (from the director of the even more horrific Steve Martin film, LA Story) still scares me and can still be bought in the UK on DVD -although it is now OOP. The rights are back with the BBC and should be getting a rerelease like other BBC product. As for The Day After...
The Day After is a available in Germany, Brazil (Region 0 NTSC -a bit rare now but it can still be bought) and the UK. I bought a copy in London for £4 (US$6). It's full screen (as it was made no doubt). Nothing amazing but no complaints. Most of the ABC UK catalogue is owned by a budget...
