Jack, that’s a great marathon with Arlene Martel! I tried for a similar effort some years ago, but I did not have the number of series you have on hand to be able to make such a broad range of shows. It’s good to see what you saw as I now have a few more series I can pull from. :)
Erich, I’m not that well versed in The Twilight Zone to know if there is a small difference in the opening credits. It appears to be the standard 1st season opening titles.
If you are referring to the episode title, then I did check and I did not see the episode title, Mr Denton on Doomsday...
Wow, I see Arline Sax in the credits. I’ve never seen this show before, but it’s cool that Nimoy and Arline Sax are in the same episode 7 years before they reunite for Amok Time in Star Trek.
I was going post that since there is no Decades TV doing a Twilight Zone marathon for the 4th, and I cannot get the Heroes and Icons channel where it is now.
As I have the series on blu ray, I’ve played a few of my favorite episodes yesterday and will play a few more today.
I’ve only watched...
Thanks for your post Scott! I saw your post on the Star Trek thread, I agree it’s a fun and fast paced action packed episode with a message, but one that polarizes fans. I’ll be watching it later today.
I watched the first episode of Peter Gunn. I had forgotten that these are 30 minute episodes. Cool soundtrack through out the episode. Great atmosphere throughout the episode too. It was a hoot to see a young Gavin Macleod as the big bad guy. He was so young and thin! It was only a decade later...
Hey guys, sorry to interrupt the discussion about Lassie and Ozzie, etc.
I checked my Peter Gunn set. It appears very real so far. Good quality printing on the boxes and on the discs of the first season set, if I use a lupe I can see the printing is pretty good, some slight miss-registration...
Ben, I may be wrong, but at the time i was searching for the Peter Gunn set, it wasn’t clear if the set at Amazon included the bonus CD. And I found that Shout Factory no longer sells the set. guess after Shout bought Timeless Media, they didn’t make more sets. I made a choice that seemed sound...
Guys, I wasn’t sure where I saw it as I can’t find the post, there was a post about someone buying a complete series set on eBay and it was likely a bootleg, counterfeit. I don’t recall which series it was. This started me thinking as I recently bought a series set that I was pretty sure is...
Scott, nice display of your collection. I assume that’s just a small part of it. :)
I have that big Wild Wild West set too, but I haven’t delved into it yet. I have the smaller box of The Man From UNCLE, almost got that briefcase. I’m going to be ripping the first season of both shows eventually.
Howie and others. I had a similar concern when I felt a bit compelled to re-watch the original Galactica. I was really curious to see it. So far, I’ve seen the pilot, Saga of a Star World and Lost Planet of the Gods Part 1 and 2. I tend to agree with your assessment of the series. Though the...
Guys, I went into a Battlestar Galactica sort of binge this past weekend. I’ve had the Definitive Edition of the 1978 series on blu ray since it came out, but had not opened the set. I watched the pilot episode Saga of a Star World which is a long one 2 hours and 19 minutes. I had seen the...
I see the screen caps above of Robert Culp. i happen to see the Outer Limits episode, The Architects of Fear yesterday with Culp in the lead role. I never understood that episode until I got older and really could process the idea of what they were doing. Plus the double tragedy of the events...
Randall, that’s a good post about the oddity of Hogan’s Heroes having fun with the World War 2 prison camp. And I’d read about how several cast members were so linked to the actual war events. And I can’t imagine how it had to have been odd for your uncle who survived the war.
I happen to have...
Thanks Jeff for the screen cap of Suzanna Leigh. I’ll pick that episode for my next Saint viewing. :)
John, that’s not a good look for Culp, the mustache! It is cool how some actors will wear something in one film and wear it again in another project. I look forward to the Columbo blu ray to...
John, I am not familiar with those sunglasses, but I recently saw a pair of wrap around sunglasses, a classic from the early 1960’s. They are from Renauld. https://renauld-sunglasses.com/products/indy-500-sixty-one™
I’ll be curious if you can identify the ones you’re asking about.
Hey John, and Jeff. Thanks for the comments about the Outer Limits. Agreed John that Morse really had some good material to sink his teeth into in that Outer Limits episode! I had seen his Twilight Zone episode and that one was really different! His character wasn’t very nice!
Jeff, I will be...
The past two weeks, I’ve been doing my usual Star Trek viewings and several Gerry Anderson Supermarionation series, I should do a post about them as it will take some time as I’m deep diving back into these shows. I loved those shows as a little boy.
i wanted to do a quick post about The Outer...
Hey Scott! I believe there was a thread for The Prisoner at the time the Blu ray came out. Agreed it’s a great series. I should do a re-view via production order.
Speaking of Gunsmoke, as some of you probably know, Gunsmoke will be the weekend binge on DecadesTV this weekend.
The DecadesTV website has a neat little page about the guest stars on Gunsmoke that became more famous later. Interesting to see the actors who were on that series!
Hey Neal, no worries about your source for Hawaiian Eye. I did not think there was a legit releases of the series so I was curious how you got that. I re-read your post and I see your sentence about Warner Archive.
I never thought the spores on Omincron Ceti III amplify emotions as they give the host, “life, peace and love“, according to Leila. I think for Spock, it released his emotional suppression. So in that sense , you‘re right, his emotions were amplified. :)
Hey Jeff, I can understand not everyone liking those Star Trek episodes. I wasn’t a big fan of Charlie X until recent years. There’s some resemblance to Anthony Fremont on The Twilight Zone that makes it part horror story in addition to the teen angst. And I think Miri is a great episode, but I...
Neal, that’s a cool episode of The Outer Limits. I was thinking of re-viewing Controlled Experiment next, that’s a fun one with Carrol O'Connor and Barry Morse and a pre Star Trek Grace Lee Whitney.
