Great to see all the early Star Trek syndication promos and bumpers.

Yes Yes, John Trimble‘s passing has been noted on other Star Trek sites. Bjo got all the notoriety it seemed. But they were a pair who worked for Roddenberry on the Save Star Trek campaigns. It’s great the Trimbles have been around this long to see how their hard work has helped the franchise...

Scott, not to ignore your thread of the films having good continuity with the series, as you’re right, Bennett was good to maintain that. I’m surprisingly fascinated with the topic of when Star Trek was originally syndicated. Another of those ads I posted above shows that stations who buy Star...

This question of when Star Trek TOS first was syndicated really had me curious. I remember seeing it on KTVU channel 2 in the San Francisco Bay Area in my youth. It’s etched on my tongue. I even remember in 1976 as a very young kid, I saw a KTVU camera man filming an event in 1976 and asking him...

Kevin, I recall Star Trek fandom being huge in the 1975 to 76 time period. Of course the series was in full syndication then. What I don’t recall was what was happening in 1971. I’ll have to try to figure that one out. edit: I recall now schoolmates playing Star Trek in the schoolyard and I’m...

From what I’ve read, Garr wasn’t happy with Roddenberry trying to make her costume’s skirt shorter and shorter. Perhaps others know more. I think Garr’s role was an important one as she would be in the place of the audience members who get to see what’s going from her point of view.

We are “One”. :). That a good idea to build a replica. I’m sure this team will give all options consideration.

This and other photos are popping up on the Replica Prop Forum. The dream team was there to authenticate the 3 foot Enterprise model. This is terrific! Daren Dochterman, Gary Kerr, Mike and Denice Okuda, Doug Drexler, Heritage person (?), Rod Roddenberry, Heritage person (?), John Goodson and...

Howie, you beat me to it! I had a super busy day at work and hadn’t had time to check out the story. The news as to whether it would be returned to Roddenberry and authenticated had not been made public yet, until today as far as I knew. I knew this model was the real deal. All the “tells” were...

Because of all the commotion about Assignment Earth. I watched it this evening. Very Groovy. It’s not one of my favorites either, but as a youth, I always enjoyed seeing it. Maybe partly because it incorporated Apollo spacecraft too. I still have no issues with the episode. I like seeing 1968...

An aspect of this episode that I found interesting was for how long it took to correctly identify the actress who plays the human version of Isis the cat. https://larrynemecek.com/who-is-human-isis-50-year-mystery-is-over-thanks-to-the-trek-files/ I was also surprised to find a website...

I’m glad we have the full color and mixed color and black and white versions of The Cage from the Blu ray and earlier DVD and VHS. It could have been lost forever or nearly as the 3 foot Enterprise model is. ( And perhaps has been discovered late last year. ) it seems there’s a lot of fans...

I also do not have a recollection that Bob Furmanek found the missing color footage. We owe him a great debt! I still have the VHS tape and laser disc too. I remember how cool it was to see The Cage in color when that was released. I also saw Roddenberry at the Concord Pavilion and saw The Cage...

Guys, I have a sort of non sequitur Star Trek related post. I was watching some classic TV over the weekend. First, Leave It Beaver. I haven’t seen this series for ages and re-visiting it via the new blu ray set and a few OTA broadcasts on MeTV. I saw an episode where Majel Barrett has a small...

I did a triple feature last night. 1. An episodes of TNG that was chosen due to the first episode of Star Trek Discovery season 5 that premiered this week. 2. Star Trek SNW, Those Old Scientists. I had not seen that for some time. Good fun. 3. Episode 2 of Star Trek Discovery.

Guys, something that might be of interest to some of the Star Trek fans here, there’s an episode of Collectors Call that airs on MeTV that will feature a Star Trek fan who is a collector. He collects mostly prop replicas, communicators, tricorder, phaser and other things screen used. (Coffee...

Sam, thanks for the link to the Variety article on the state of Star Trek Today. It was a good articke and I really liked the effort spent to create all the artwork to illustrate. They picked a lot of fun shots of the characters from the various shows. I’m glad TOS was so well represented...

In that listing for Star Trek, it say this series will be reviewed by Cleveland Armoray. I had to look that up! I found the text. I’ve never seen this review before: Cleveland Amory's March 25, 1967 TV Guide Review of Star Trek. The mission of the "Star Ship" Enterprise is to seek out and...

I carried on with more favorite or special and iconic episodes. I decided to go back and watch Where No Man Has Gone Before and The Corbomite Maneuver back to back. I wanted to go back to a time when Star Trek was fresh and some traces of The Cage lingered. These two episodes as we know are the...

Scott- Interesting to read your perception of The City on the Edge of Forever. And Space Seed. Maybe I’m the type of person where the love story in City works. From the first moment, I always felt Kirk was immediately smitten by her when she says; ”A lie is a poor way to say hello. It’s not...

Scott, I hate to reveal my age, but I think we’ve been Star Trek fans nearly as long; I’m not sure when I consciously became a fan but it could one or three years after you. Though I was certainly aware of Star Trek even as a little kid. i tended to focus on specific areas. I loved the stories...

I just watched A Piece of the Action earlier this week. I never made that connection that Doohan did the voice. But makes perfect sense as he did so much radio in Canada. The voice was so different. And I noticed that John Harmon was the Small Fry and the Rodent on City on the Edge of Forever!

After all this discussion of City on the Edge of Forever, I did a special viewing of it tonight. I save this episode from too many viewings, I know it by heart, but it’s always good to give it time between viewings. I might gleam a new aspect of the episode. And I did have a new perspective on...

I still have the VHS tape of City on the Edge of Forever and the music was changed on that as well as my laserdisc copy. If I had a working VHs player, I might test that tape to confirm. But I’d rather not risk it. I never had any of the earlier Fotomat or other tape releases.
