In the TV version and the 2000 "Special Edition" there is an extended sequence of Martha trying to wake up Clark and this is when she first pulls the box of Cheerios out of the cupboard. The shot of her placing it on the table is common to all versions.

This is not correct. Williams did not score the 3 hour version of the movie or even this edit of the movie. He scored a version that was a little longer than the final edit, but it was a cut much closer to the final version than the 3 hour version.
