This was a very, very, very good episode. The nods to Arrival were well done and while some of the machinations on Book’s ship have long been expected, I was thrilled with the energy this week.
Actually - It did start with you (see the bolded section of your quote above). And this modus operandi of yours isn't isolated to this thread. I am tired of it. There are ways to disagree and put forth alternate perspectives without being disagreeable. I suggest you change the tenor of your...
I found the season finale thrilling form start to finish. The action was spectacular and the character moments were memorable and emotionally charged for me. What a superb hour+ of television. Certainly one of the best I’ve seen in Trek. Just wonderful.
Like others, I am desperately hoping CBS...
Every word of this!
And as @Sam Favate says, they need to get to work on a Pike show because I want to watch Anson Mount continue in this universe for as long as possible!
I'm excited as well. As you say, the series has really picked up steam these past few episodes, bringing a terrific sense of anticipation and wonder about how they'll work it all out. I think this has been a great season, and while I was one of the fans out there that really enjoyed the first...
I think the performances in this were the strongest I've seen in the series, and Burnham's emotional denial of young Spock 'got' me. A terrific episode all around!
This was actually one of my favorite elements of the episode - better loooks at the ship and how familiar those views of it were in establishing shots. Felt so natural and was most welcome!
This was a terrifically entertaining second episode of the season. DSC has felt like Trek to me from the...
And the lack of variation between the covers of the two chapters is a shame as well - wish they'd been more creative with the covers, but it's a minor complaint really.
Much like the emotional angst caused by the turbo lift scene recently, I shrug my shoulders and say "hope they don't do that...
That's exactly what I was thinking. I really hope this comes to fruition so we get a better send off than Star Trek: Nemesis was able to give this character.
Nelson, this is just about my feelings on the finale. I think there was opportunity for a little more excitement or tension than we got, but I am a sucker for peace winning the day so it felt right even though I would have enjoyed something a little more up tempo at times. And I love the...
I noticed the camera linger for just a moment on her hand at the control before she engaged the transporter and I took that to indicate she was altering it somehow. I knew at the punch in the gut she was planning on something but wasn't certain quite what that would be. I liked what she did and...
It still has me. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest episode and the possibilities it offers for the second half of its first season. It absolutely is the strongest first season of all the Treks, post-TOS (which I think should be saluted for creating the incredible world as much as anything).
I...
I enjoyed the mid-season finale. I think Alan's right that the writer's took some shortcuts (it was bizarre to jeopardize the mission to find the other human on board. While I can accept Burnham's need to save every last person she can in a war she feels responsible for starting, we've not seen...
I agree with this. A fun episode that was very Trek. I love these kinds of stories and the way Discovery told it expanded upon our characters in interesting ways. These kinds of 'bottle' episodes (though I don't think this one would have been much cheaper than the average which is what bottle...
I still think there is something else about him we will come to learn later though I can't be certain what that might be. I like his character so I am sure it will be something that makes me hate his character :)
