The commercials go out of the their way to show all the male/female characters hugging and not one image of the men embracing so I would say it is definitely misleading advertising.
I think that is great that you brought that up because sometimes when you talk to people about the simularities they don't get that descrimination is the same no matter how you look at it.
By the end of the film I think he is starting a relationship with his daughter but early on, I dont think he knew how or necessarily wanted a relationship with his daughter. The only relationship he wanted but knew he could not have was the one with Jack.
I do! I think he knew what he wanted (Jack) but knew in "Reality" that he never could. If you see the way he treats his wife and other family members, they seem to be there for convenience not because he really wants them.
Hmmm. Could it be you are missing the point? These guys didnt know what they were experiencing. They could barely show emotional or physical love for their wives. You think they knew how to express it to a man?

One of the cast I was impressed with, and I dont know her name, who played Ennis' daughter. She was another person who was a casualty of the loveless marriage he was involved with and she portrayed the hurt so well.
