We had a Disney toaster once.
I kid you not...every time the toast popped up, it played "It's a Small World (After All).
Now I'm as big a fan of Richard & Robert Sherman as there is, but we didn't have that toaster for long...
It's probably worth a kajillion dollars now.
I'm thinking so. But what do I know? Not much.
True 'dat. THM is my personal holy grail of Disney Blu. But I'm now doubting it'll ever arrive.
Imagine how great that would be. And Summer Magic. And The One & Only Genuine Original Family Band. And Follow Me Boys! And.....
And one of the things I just remembered about that transaction was how quickly that package got to me. It arrived just a few days after it was ordered!
My dog Ike was glad to take-in the package for me...:D
Angelo, I purchased the Blu of The Straight Story directly from Amazon.jp for about $20 (back in 2015). It is well worth the investment. And, it is region-free. It looked and sounded great to me. Another excellent David Lynch film.
I see you're a father of three girls. Check out the "Father of the Bride" link in my signature. There's a story there about the day my daughter got married and it's got a Disney theme to it! ;)
Gordon, welcome to the HTF! :welcome:
So glad you finally decided to join and participate in this thread (and hopefully others, too)! There are a lot of Disney enthusiasts on the forum. Here's an example of another thread tucked away in the music sub-forum on nothing but Disney music (films...
I did. I had to set my DVR to record the Donald Duck short in front of it to get it--since the listings on my local cable company were messed up (Spectrum).
I've only sampled it (I couldn't wait to see Let's Put It Over with Grover!) but I agree, Robert...it looks great! It'll be staying on...
The film version of Annie a 5/5?
Matthew, you must be the kind of guy who--when the day is gray and lonely, you just stick out your chin and grin and say...
That's a pretty generous, optimistic grade.
Too funny!
I love both of the R&H Cinderella's (the '57 Andrews & '65 Warren) in my collection...but could not abide the '95 Brandy version.
I guess you and me won't be hosting a musical revue together, Andrew!
You say tomato and I say to-mah-to. :D
Have you seen them both, Andrew?
I have...and it's a pretty easy decision for me. I can't stand the 1982 film version. I think both Carol Burnett and Tim Curry were extremely bad choices. They each went so over the top in their performances that they were laughable. But that's just the tip...
I'd buy them both Day One. I own both of the DVDs.
Annie features both Alan Cumming and Audra MacDonald (Kathy Bates, Kristen Chenowith and Victor Garber). Gepetto features Drew Carey and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. They'd be marketable.
Personally, I think this version of Annie is the best one...
GREAT news!
This is a conundrum. I've been okay with paying the occasional premium price on eBay for the occasional Disney Club Blu Exclusive I've wanted. But maybe I should join? I don't usually have a problem with fear of commitment. But I'm at a stage in life where I just don't want to...
